In the mean time, get to know your new project manager:

George I. Seif founded Misfits LLC after years of managing a multitude of projects in the private and public sectors. He also played a key role in helping local and international startups find their footing in Cairo.

As a freelancer, George co-produced the India by the Nile festival two years in a row and in collaboration with the Indian Embassy Cairo and Teamwork Arts in Mumbai (2016, 2017) and was the General Festival Coordinator and Film Program Curator of D-CAF, the largest arts festival in the Middle East and Africa (2017). With GCM he co-coordinated the transportation and in-hall teams of three conferences in Sharm El Sheikh: the COMESA Summit (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa), the UN Biodiversity Conference and the World Youth Forum (all 2018).

George was the start-up coordinator of Elves, an A.I. concierge app that has been widely hailed as one of the most successful entrepreneurial efforts in the region (2016), and he managed the nation-wide operations of Raise Your Voice, an initiative that trains Egyptian women in the technical skills required to become documentary filmmakers and video journalists (2016–2017).

Always keen to get unusual ideas off the ground, George specializes in making unprecedented events possible, like the Cairo Tattoo and Body Modification Convention, the first event of its kind in Middle East, or the Smiling Dentist Awards. He is also well connected in Cairo’s nightlife and initiated packed live music events in the city’s best venues, including Shahrazad, ZigZag, VENT, Underground, El Geneina, The Tipsy Teapot, Sofitel El Gezirah, Windsor Hotel, the French Institute in Egypt and the Swiss Club Cairo, as well as Stella Di Mare in Ain Soukhna and exclusive events at private residences. In 2017 he expanded his scope to include production for art exhibitions and laid the groundwork for Misfits LLC.

As a medical student, George was head of the national fundraising team, and co-founder and vice president for external affairs of the Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) at his university. He was also one of the delegates representing the medical student body in Egypt (IFMSA-Egypt) at general assemblies in Mumbai and Copenhagen. George did volunteer medical work with disabled children and seniors in El Minya and provided his organizational and start-up expertise free of charge to HARASSmap, a mobile and online technology non-profit that uses interactive mapping to reduce the social acceptability of sexual harassment throughout Egypt. George is a native English and Arabic speaker and fluent in French and can be contacted for projects and collaborations in Egypt and abroad.
